How To Get The Most Out Of Your Candle

You won't be surprised to hear that at Olivia's Haven we are soy candle obsessed. Over the years we have learned all the tips and tricks, which will help you get the most out of your Olivia's Haven soy candle.

There is a lot more to enjoying a candle than just lighting and letting it burn! There are lots of things you can do to look after your candles, which will help them last longer and burn better. Here are our top tips:

Number One

The first time you light your candle, let it burn for 2-3 hours or until the wax meets the edge of the glass.

Soy candles have a memory, so burning until there is an even melt pool will prevent tunnelling.

Number Two

Trim your wick!

Keeping your candle wick trimmed helps the candle burn more evenly, prolonging the life of the candle.

Number Three

Don't blow your candles out, use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame.

It will neatly and safely put out a burning candle. Blowing out a candle can cause hot wax to spatter, which can be messy.

Number Four

Choose a safe environment for your candle.

Make sure it is placed upon a surface that is non-flammable and heat resistant, well away from anything that could catch fire. Remember, you must never leave a lit candle unattended.

Number Five

Say goodbye to your candle when there is less than half an inch of wax left in the bottom. This guideline is an industry safety standard that will keep you safe. Look on the bright side, you can now treat yourself to a new candle!

I had one of your candles bought for me as a present. Is it normal for tour candle to have an uneven surface after burning it, or should it settle smooth like it was?
